The World Crafts Council Europe (WCCE) is a European network representing 36 craft organisations (members) from 22 European countries whose main statutory mission is to promote crafts in Europe, by increasing the awareness and appreciation of crafts as an integral part of the cultural, social, and economic well-being of society. WCCE is leading and implementing as the unique partner the project CRAFTING THE FUTURE funded under the CREA-CULT-2021-NET call.
This activity responds to the need for gaining in-depth knowledge of the specific needs, challenges, characteristics, and vulnerabilities of the European craft sector all along the value chain. The lack of appropriate data is currently preventing the establishment of policies that favour the survival and competitiveness of the craft sector. Therefore, this activity aims to provide evidence of the value and characteristics of the European Craft sector and to identify its challenges and opportunities in the future.
We invite you to contribute to the study into the Resilience of the Craft Sector. This study aims to understand what resilience means to the different cultures andcraftspeople across Europe, what makes and could make the craft sector resilient nowand in the future, and how world changing events of a global pandemic, a war and acost of living crisis have impacted the sector and in what ways. The aim is to work closely with the sector, undertaking a survey (anonymous), indepth focus groups and one-on-one interviews to understand fromcraftspeople, sector specialists, craft education providers and more about the currentstate of the sector. The questionnaire will be closing at the end of August. |
