The City Council of Bailén has organized during the days 20, 21, 22 and 23 October the V International Fair and Contest of Artistic and Structural Ceramic of Bailén 2020-2021 (CERAMIBA) to promote and publicize the heterogeneity and richness of craftsmanship The event will take place online. The deadline to register as expositor will remain open until September 17 on the website www.ceramiba.com for profesionals interested in participating such as artisans, ceramists, sculptors or artists. Within the framework of CERAMIBA, also taking place will be the V International Contest of Artistic Ceramic 2020-2021, focused this year in the flowerpot, a significant piece in popular pottery. The competition has two different modalities endowed with two economic recognitions each: a first prize of 1.500 euros and a second of 500 euros. The first variety recognizes the innovation and reinterpretation of the design, textures and materials related to the clay of the traditional flowerpot of Bailén. The second values the traditional line piece and the respect for the formal and decorative singularity. The deadline to register for the competition is until September 17. The exhibition of all the participating pieces will be inaugurated on October 20 and the awarded flowerpots will become part of the collection of Bailén City Council. The jury is composed of a representative from the Technological Centre of Ceramics (Innovarcilla) and the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities (AeCC), as well as a professional from the local handmade ceramic sector and the Jose Nogue Art School. To these four profiles is added the president of the jury, which will have the casting vote in case of a tie, consisting of a representative of the Municipal Corporation, and a technician of the Bailen City Council who will act as secretary, without vote. The jury's decision will be announced on Saturday, October 23, coinciding with the ceremony of the National Awards of the Spanish Association of Ceramic Cities. The pieces must be sent from September 29 to October 6 to the Museum of the Battle of Bailén (Principes de Asturias Square, 23710, Bailén).
