Koren’s homestead – ILA ceramic studio

Perovo 18 C, Kamnik, Slovenia

Koren’s homestead is located within the modern settlement of Perovo in the immediate vicinity of the old town of Kamnik, Slovenia. Since 2005, there has been a renowned art center of three generations here, connecting our grandmother’s roots through heritage with contemporary work. It has a workshop and studio for working with clay. Different courses in ceramics and pottery, symposia, exhibitions and other events take place here. It has a unique location as it is surrounded by a small forest and clearing, which also enables for an outdoor exhibition gallery. The Center collaborates with the local environment, traditional potters, ceramic designers and other artists. It is led by Tatjana Hlačer, potter, ceramic artist, art therapist and the founder of the association for the preservation of knowledge and the production of traditional Majolka from Kamnik.

During the international festival “Good Morning, Ceramics”, we will hold four special workshops on the topic of GARDEN.

Teja Hlačer, ceramic artist, potter, art pedagogue and cultural anthropologist, who already participated here in this festival in 2017, designed the program and concept of the workshops.

Workshops will be outdoors! Children, families and everyone else are invited on Saturday 15.6.2021 and Sunday 16.6. 2021, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

We will make replicas of ancient plant watering cans, bird water containers, fairy creatures and much more that enrich our gardens.

On Sunday afternoon we will have a special guest, musician Francisco Soto from Peru, who will introduce us to instruments made of clay, which he designs and manufactures himself. We will also listen to his wonderful music.
